Sun protection: louvred roofs, external blinds & roller shutters
Good sun protection keeps the heat out before it enters the house and creates shade exactly where it is needed. We install louvred roofs over terraces, external venetian blinds and roller shutters in front of windows, and vertical slat walls as privacy and sun screens – in Lower Austria and Vienna.

Louvred roofs (pergolas)
Freestanding or attached to the house, with slats that open and close – for shade, airflow or rain protection on the terrace.
External venetian blinds
Adjustable external slats in front of the window that direct light and block heat before it reaches the glass.
Roller shutters
Close the window completely – for darkness, quiet and privacy.
Vertical slat walls
Fixed aluminium slats on façades, loggias or terraces – privacy that still lets light and air through.
Outside, not inside
Sun protection works best on the outside: the heat is stopped before it passes through the glass into the room. Interior curtains or blinds cool much less, because the heat is already inside.
Matched to windows and façade
We match colour, slat profile and housing to the windows, façade and roof. When building new or replacing windows, it pays to plan sun protection at the same time.

Frequently asked questions
External blind or roller shutter – what's the difference?
An external venetian blind has adjustable slats: it lets daylight in while keeping the sun out. A roller shutter closes the window completely – for darkness, privacy and quiet. Many homes combine both, for example blinds on the south and west sides and shutters in the bedroom.
What is a louvred roof?
A louvred roof – often called a bioclimatic pergola – has rotating aluminium slats instead of fixed roofing. Open, it lets air through; closed, it gives shade and keeps rain off.
Can external blinds be retrofitted?
In many cases yes, for example with a surface-mounted housing in front of the façade. We check what is possible for your windows when we measure up.
How much does sun protection cost?
That depends on the system, size and number of windows. After measuring up you receive a written quote listing every item.
